Parker

Parker is very friendly, a truly “sociable” dog. He enjoys being the centre of attention. On walks, when strangers come up to admire him, he lets them stroke him – more than once he has even sat down at a complete stranger’s feet and leant against them :-). He loves it when guests arrive; he goes up to everyone and makes friends. He is incredibly patient with children – he lets them do anything, and they can fuss over him for hours.

He loves walks, both on the lead and off it. We never had to teach him not to wander off; he always stays close to us.

When he was little, we took him to puppy class and then to dog school as well. He immediately became one of the trainers’ favourites.

In summer, when it’s very hot, I regularly bring him with me to the office, where there is air conditioning. Luckily everyone here is a dog person, and several of my colleagues regularly bring their dogs in too. None of them is as big as Parker, but everyone adores him and can’t wait for me to bring him in. Some even bring their children along on those days so they can spend time with him.

He isn’t entirely aware of his size and often thinks he’s a lapdog :-)

He loves water and is a good swimmer. Rain doesn’t bother him on walks, but luckily he prefers to wait for it to stop under the covered terrace :-)
